Guitar notes
Chopin reportedly said that nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, save perhaps two. With the appropriate caveats, I can't quite disagree... I have been lucky to get on to an early start and study with some of the world top players. It all began at the age of 10 or so under Beatriz Giannandrea and Léo Soares in Rio de Janeiro, continuing – after a long pause during university -- with Franco Platino in Washington DC. I also took master classes with Raphaella Smitts and David Russell, and was fortunate to cross pathways with one of the most talented guitar luthiers alive – Ross Gutmeier – who built the guitar I currently play. Although I have let Economics play first fiddle since college, the old flame never quit burning.
